Eken Babu audio stories: where to start

Character · একেন বাবু · 19 stories · 3 channels

Eken Babu does not look like a detective. He is bald and round-faced, takes snuff and is careful with every cent. Yet he is a police detective, Ekendra Sen, who trained in criminology in the United States, and many of his cases happen in New York. His two friends there are Bapi, who teaches physics at New York University and writes the stories down, and Pramatha, a chemistry researcher.

Sujan Dasgupta, a Bengali writer who lived in the United States, created him. The first story, Manhattan-ey Moonstone, came out in a children's magazine in 1991. Wikipedia lists more than thirty Eken Babu stories, collected in several volumes of Ekenbabu Samagra.

Most of the 19 recordings on this page are THRILLER LAND's full-cast dramas, several of them split into two or four parts. Mirchi Bangla's Sunday Suspense has the two Manhattan stories, and Sudhu Golper Jonno has Barman Bari Rahasya. A few THRILLER LAND uploads are marked 18+. Start with Manhattan-ey Moonstone, where it all began.
