Jagaddhatri Puja, often spelt Jagadhatri, has its main day, Navami, on Thursday 19 November 2026, and Chandannagar is where Bengal goes for it: the lights, the images, the procession. The Navami puja is on Thu 19 Nov 2026, 3 Agrahayan 1433, by drikpanchang. Navami runs from 6.04 am on Wed 18 Nov to 7.05 am on Thu 19 Nov by drikpanchang (6.05 am to 7.06 am by prokerala's Kolkata panchang). Thursday takes the puja because Navami is running at its sunrise. That is why some calendars print 18 November: the tithi begins that morning.

Getting to Chandannagar from Kolkata
Chandannagar is on the Howrah main line: local trains from Howrah stop at Chandannagar station. Eastern Railway has not announced special trains for the 2026 Puja nights yet, and no ferry arrangements for the Puja have been announced either. The Central Committee's dates for the pandals and the immersion procession are not announced yet. We will add each notice here when it is out.

When is Jagaddhatri Puja in 2026?
The Navami puja is on Thursday 19 November 2026 by drikpanchang, and by prokerala's Kolkata times Navami is running at Thursday's sunrise too. Pujas that keep several days begin on Tuesday 17 November and end with immersion on Friday 20 November.
Why do some calendars say 18 November?
Navami begins at 6.04 am on Wednesday 18 November. But Wednesday's sunrise comes while Ashtami is still running, and the puja goes by the tithi at sunrise, so Thursday 19 November takes it.
When is the Chandannagar procession in 2026?
Not announced yet. Chandannagar's Central Committee fixes its days and the procession each year. We will add them here when they are out.
